Can anyone stop the Dodgers from repeating?
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to be the first team to win back-to-back World Series since the 1999-2000 New York Yankees.
They’ll start the season with pretty much the same line up as last year and as long as they have three former MVPs at the top of their order, they are going to be favourites to win every year.
On the pitching side of things, the Dodgers dealt with numerous injuries to players such as Clayton Kershaw and Dustin May last season so have put a lot of money into that area this offseason.
The most coveted free agent was Japan’s right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki who the world got to see shine at the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

With the Dodgers boasting the two best Japanese players in MLB it felt almost inevitable that Sasaki would sign there and indeed he did.
The rich would get richer though as they also signed one of the best starting pitchers on the market Blake Snell.
The Dodgers have dominated the regular season for the past 10 years with a winning percentage of .621, the best in the league over that period.
Playoff time had proved to be more of a test for the LA side as they had had not been back to the World Series since they won it in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Even last year, the Dodgers had some scares in the NLDS against the Padres when they found themselves 2-1 down but they had players like Tommy Edman and Kike Hernandez step up in the big moments.
The first championship is always the hardest to win and now that they have achieved that, the team is set up to dominate the playoffs for years to come.
With Dave Roberts extending is contract until 2029, the Los Angeles club looks set to compete for a championship every year and potentially build a dynasty.
